To the west of Hua Hin rises a verdant backdrop of humpbacked mountains. Near
the village of Nong Phlab—home to the second-largest pineapple plantation in the
world (Dole)—are three ancient caves named Oao, Lablae, and Kailon that show
scalloped stalactites and twist ing stalagmites. But which is which? Guides
with gas lanterns are available to show you around, tell tall tales, and answer
questions. Take an escorted tour from Hua Hin, or a local bus opposite Chatchai
market. The caves are behind the village police station: Dao Cave is 500 meters
distant, Lablae Cave is 2.5 km, and Kailon Cave is 3.5 km.
