The cafe in the Khao Wang Hotel is probably the best spot in town for local
seafood. Streetstalls are located along the main street near Wat Mahathat and
opposite the clock tower.
Petchburi is known throughout Thailand tor its excellent sweets made from local
sugars. The primary showcase for specialties such as khanom morkang (baked
coconut custard) is a restaurant called Ban Khanom Thai ("House of Thai
Sweets"), on Petchkasern Highway just outside the city limits. This collection
of 13 Thai houses includes displays of sweets, a folk-crafts museum, and a Thai
restaurant with classical entertainment in the evenings.
