Fifteen km north of Hua Hin, on the grounds of the Rama IV Army Base, is a
wooden palace constructed in 1924 as a royal retreat for King Rama VI. Entirely
made of teak and fashioned in Thai-Victorian style, the Palace of Love and Hope
has recently been renovated and opened to the public. Open dally 0800-1600; no
entrance fee.
