The cave sanctuary of Khao Luang, five km north of town on Hwy. 3173, is the
most famous of Petchburi's dozen caves. Inside the central chamber are dozens of
Buddhas donated by pilgrims and King Mongkut, a magnificent array of
stalactites, and miniature chedis illuminated by sunlight streaming through the
roof. The Wagnerian effect is a favorite subject for photographers.
