Train: Trains from Hualampong station in Bangkok leave nine times daily 0900 -2155. Two trains leave daily from Kanchanaburi. Bus: Buses from the Southern Bus Terminal in Bangkok leave every 30 minutes and take three or four hours depending on the route and traffic. Buses terminate in the center of town on the main highway or back one block on Sasong Road. Beachside bungalows are a 10-minute walk away.

Travel agencies in Hua Hin can sometimes book direct a/c bus travel south to Ko Sarnui and Phuket. Ordinary buses can be picked up during the day on Sasong Road and in the evenings near the clock tower on Petchkasern Road.
